Week 5, Day 6: Why are you here?

Today, the Sacrament Meeting speaker asked each of us to consider why we were at church... and it really caught me off guard. There are many reasons one goes to church, including:

• obedience to a command
• desire to learn
• eternal security
• understanding gospel basics
• social
• to please family or friends
• habit
• calling/obligation
• etc, etc.

As I sat and thought about it, I realized that there have been many times when I am each one of these things. Truthfully, though, I haven't struggled with the decision of whether or not to go to church for a very long time. I may not always have the best attitude, but I have known where I needed to be on Sunday mornings and have felt the desire in my heart to feel closer to my Lord and Savior. I am grateful for the blessing of Church attendance and the Spirit that returns to my life through proximity with my Father.

This whole day has been WONDERFUL!
